The main purpose of sponsoring the Independence Football League in Central Pendam at Tikalal Niroula Senior Secondary School was to let people know about the importance of birdwatching and birding tours in Sikkim. In a larger forum and platform, it is easier to address the larger audience. Nearly five thousand people gathered for this football league which continued for a month. 

We from Sikkim Birds Tours & Travels didn't want to miss the opportunity to present our work to a large audience by becoming a part sponsor for this football league. The scope of birdwatching tourism is immense in Sikkim and other states of northeast India. We, being the pioneers in the field of birding and birdwatching from the state, should conduct more such events.
