We from Sikkim Birds organize frequent nature awareness camps across the state to improve the cognizance and apprehension about the importance of wildlife and nature. This brings an impetus to us to carry forward the philanthropic deeds that we are doing apart from conducting commercial birdwatching tours.  

we had a splendid time with the students of Central Point Academy, who allowed Sikkim Birds to organize the Nature Awareness Event in their arena. Over 40 students from the campus enrolled in painting, quiz, and ethno-ornithology storytelling competitions. 
The wholehearted support from Founder Mr. Nirmal Dhakal, General Secretory Mr. Keshav Chandra Khanal, Principal Mrs. Bharati Joshi, and other teachers made the event very jovial. The presence of Nisha Sharma Dhungel and Rozan Dhungel was foremost and prime! Sikkim Birds promises to conduct more such events in the future for the greater good of society.

The event started with a keynote speech by Principal Mrs. Bharati Joshi and Founder Mr. Nirmal Dhakal about the importance of nature and wildlife in Sikkim. Mr. Dibyendu Ash shared his perception as a birdwatcher and the impact of unhindered practices and befriending with good conservation practices with the students. The experience of bird watching and nature study was nicely shared amongst the students by Mr. Rozan Dhungel.

Amongst many participants, Sparsh was very eloquent with the story she shared - Gol Chimal aka Mountain Scops Owl. Apart from that, a very detailed image of Red-tailed Minla was drawn by Aditi Pokhrel. Both Aditi and Sparsh were from class vii.  

The event was concluded with a vote of thanks and certificate distribution amongst the students.

Mr Nirmal Dhakal - The Founder of Central Point Academy. He has vast experience in working abroad, specially in UK and Papua New Guinea. In 2009 he founded the school and ventured into a philanthropic work!
